Beacon of Hope - July 2026 Newsletter
Bula Vinaka!

Dear Friends and Family,
We arrived in the second half of 2026. It seems like time flies. The 4th of July was a blast for many Americans, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our independence. It is my pleasure to congratulate all of us for this great celebration, mostly to all the seniors, veterans and those who have served under the American banner.
So now we are on the roll for the next half of the year, looking forward to many exciting events. What lies ahead of us is unknown, but as we plan for the future we hope our aims for the year are fulfilled. Hope for Seniors looks ahead positively with the hope that seniors under our care are well looked for the remainder of their lives, not only serving them with professional care but added with love and compassion by hard working caregivers.
Hope for Seniors LLC will be taking part in senior expositions this July and September, putting our name and our mission out into the community. We're going all in to promote the Hope culture across the Bay Area, and we're hopeful this season also brings us closer to becoming a vendor with the Golden Gate Regional Center — opening the door to even more families we can serve. Stay blessed, and stay hopeful.
Vinaka Vakalevu,
Sunia Baikeirewa
(San Rafael Office Manager)
JULY: Beat the Heat — Summer Safety for Seniors
Summer in the North Bay means sunshine, warmth, and unfortunately, real risk for the seniors we care for. Heat exhaustion and dehydration can sneak up fast on older adults — but a few simple precautions go a long way.
Here's how to help your loved one beat the heat this season.
- Seniors are more prone to dehydration and heat exhaustion — encourage water intake even without thirst cues
- Best times for outdoor activity: early morning or evening, avoiding peak heat (11am–4pm)
- Watch for heavy sweating, cold or clammy skin, dizziness, and nausea — early signs of heat exhaustion
- In seniors, confusion or sudden disorientation can show up before they even feel hot — it's often the first warning sign
- Hot, dry skin or a body temperature of 104°F or higher signals heat stroke — a medical emergency
- Call the doctor if symptoms last more than an hour or get worse; call 911 immediately for confusion, fainting, or very high fever
- Your Caregiver helps with hydration reminders, light meal prep, and safe indoor cooling on hot days
WELLNESS CORNER
Staying Cool, Calm & Connected This Summer
Summer wellness for seniors isn't just about avoiding the heat — it's about finding small, joyful ways to stay active, nourished, and connected all season long. Here are four simple habits that make a big difference.
01
Go out early.
Schedule walks, errands, or porch time before 10am or after 5pm, when the sun and heat are at their gentlest.
02
Dress light.
Loose, breathable cotton or linen, light colors, and a wide-brimmed hat make a real difference outdoors.
03
Eat cool.
Swap heavy meals for chilled soups, salads, and water-rich fruits like watermelon and berries — easy on the body and naturally hydrating.
04
Stay connected.
Heat can limit mobility, and isolation often creeps in during summer. A phone call, a shared meal, or a caregiver visit keeps spirits — and safety — up.

Anasa Koroitamana
CEO /owner
"As the CEO/Owner, my day-to-day duty is to simply delegate and oversee operations of the agency. I love seeing the gifts and talents of each employee come to life when it’s activated in the right position.
Teamwork makes the dream work.
I’m looking forward to what God has for us. He is my provider, my source, and He is what sustains me through every season. I’m also excited to see the company continue to grow from the inside out."

Susan Koroitamana
Care Co-ordinator
"I like to think of my role and duty as the Care Coordinator as an advocate for both our clients and caregivers. What I love most about my role is making connections with the clients and caregivers. To do in-home visits, it feels like I’m visiting family because of the connections we’ve made through the duration of the care.
I look forward to seeing new faces and establishing more connections in the remainder of 2026."

Iliana Daveta
Admin / Senior Care Manager
"My role as Admin/Senior Care Manager is to ensure that clients and families experience a seamless transition into receiving in-home care from the Client Onboarding process, to initial assessments, Caregiver orientation and more. What I love about my role? Simple, I get to see hope come alive from issuing a caregiver to the home of their loved ones or elaborating on what the care consists of.
In the remainder of 2026, I am looking forward to more growth; as an individual, and as an Admin/Senior Care Manager."

Sunia Baikeirewa
Manager - San Rafael Office
"The San Rafael Office serves as the registered office for Hope for Seniors LLC. My role is to coordinate office and administrative work, including marketing activities throughout Marin County, undertake research, and provide analysis for new business developments. What I love most is engaging with people, and networking. As the sole staff member, managing the office requires self-motivation and drive, as it can be challenging at times. However, my commitment to serving seniors makes all the work worthwhile.
My goal this year is to ensure the office continues with its marketing and sales campaign in the County, while applying to become a vendor at Golden Gate Regional Center by the year end also presents more opportunities for us."

Christopher Mallam
Media & Marketing
"My role is to be the voice of Hope For Seniors online — from our Instagram and Facebook posts to our monthly newsletter and website. What I love about it is finding ways to show the real heart of this company: our caregivers, our clients, and the Bula Spirit that makes HFS different from any other home care agency.
I’m looking forward to growing our presence across Marin and Sonoma County even further, and continuing to build content that reflects the genuine care our team provides every day."
